Specialty Hospice is Hiring a Volunteer Coordinator Near Vicksburg, MS

The Volunteer Coordinator receives information on new admissions, assigns volunteers if requested and provides them with the appropriate information, including the following: Maintains regular contact with patient/family support volunteers to discuss interactions with patients/families; Assess volunteer’s working relationship with other team members; Maintains all necessary volunteer records, Participates in volunteer recruitment and conducts screening process; Coordinates volunteer training classes; Coordinates activities of the volunteer not involved in direct patient/family services, and work closely with the Community Outreach Specialist in the provision of community education to acute care facilities and long term care facilities utilizing knowledge, marketing skills and relationship building skills to increase awareness of hospice and patient/family benefits of hospice care.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must an associate or bachelor's degree and at least one year in a volunteer program. Other work-related experience evaluated for consideration.
  • Must have strong community outreach skills, an outstanding personality and ready to help the company reach patients and their families in a way that truly makes a difference.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency of Windows, Excel, Word and Power Point applications.
  • Must have the ability to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem-solving skills.
  • Must work productively as a team player within the agency and community.
  • Must demonstrate a continued commitment to Specialty Hospice’s philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.
  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver’s license and auto insurance.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

  • hospice/home health: 1 year (Preferred)
  • management: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Vicksburg, MS 39180: Relocate before starting work (Required)
